Metallurgie (2017)
for piano, thunder sheet and live electronics.
The piece is based on the sonorous properties of metal as an element connecting the instruments. A "hyper-instrument" consisting of thunder sheet, piano, and live electronics is created by means of different feedback processes. The different components influence each other while remaining independent. In so doing, I conceive of the actions of the musicians as transformations of a common "electro-acoustic" sound, which has inner tensions, resistances and tendencies and creates transitions between turbulent, periodic and chaotic states. The instrumental sounds are being analyzed and control the digital synthesis which is partly made audible through the instruments (by means of transducers).
